Review by R. Hagan : High quality, good price, and basic 5 Star

As a note I've only owned this mower for a week now. I've mowed our 1.5 acres of grass and tall weeds and it works as advertised. It's lightweight and it powers thru most everything. The mower starts the first pull every time and it takes hardly any effort to pull the cord. The double ball bearing wheels are smooth and they seem sturdy. The high rear wheels are nice as well. The breakdown of the handle for storage purposes is great as well and it's a hard feature to find. We have no plans of using the bag and we've mulched everything so far. The only clumps of grass created are where the grass is extra tall and it's wet down low. We plan on mowing everything at the highest setting available. All in all we looked at everything under $300 and this was the best we could find. We've had a self propelled and never again. This mower is very easy to push and it's more comfortable to go at your own pace. The mower is very easy to maneuver in tight spaces as well. We have very rolling terrain and while it's a decent exercise it's nothing overly strenuous. It takes us about 4 hours to cut the entire 1.5 acres. Other models that we shopped for were cub cadet, toro, honda, craftsman, and john deere. Also, our last mower, a self propelled Honda had the exact same engine and we've had it, and abused it, now for over 10 years. The engine is the best thing on that mower and I'm happy that my new husqvarna seems to have the exact same engine. Best of luck and should things change I'll report back.

Review by Jkelley21 : Great mower, good price. 4 Star

KVery good little mower. Very light compared to my last one, and this is my first with a bagging feature. I must say its great, fills up rather quick but the yard was fairly overgrown. Only worry is the wheels seem to be a bit on the flimsy side, might need replacing after a few seasons of mowing.

Review by J.P. "JP" : Husqvarna 7021P 21-Inch 160 cc Honda Lawn Mower 5 Star

What a great lawnmower! With a little more then 3 hours break-in time on the Honda Engine , I think it's safe to say that I got a good one. I love the sound (tone) of the engine, you can tell it's a Honda ;-) I had some deep grass to mow due to the failure of my 25 year old 5 hp Tecumseh mower RIP (served me well). Anyhow, this Husqvarna 7021P is a serious lawn mower, for anyone that likes high performance equipment. I was very impressed with the power. The dual bearing wheels made pushing a breeze. That is my first impression. Should I have any trouble, I will be sure to post a follow-up... "No News is Good News" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!20 HOUR UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20 hour update! This mower has started first pull, that includes at least a dozen times showing friends and family how easy it starts. The mower pushes nice and easy, thanks to the dual bearing wheels. The mower runs almost 2 hrs each time it is used. One thing I would like to mention is this was purchased assembled "ready to mow". I would hardly think it would be hard to assemble, but, some people are plain stupid (present reader excluded) lol. I would recommended this mower to the highest level. Should I have any trouble, I will be sure to post a follow-up... "No News is Good News"

Review by gadgetnut : Great Mower with a Great Engine! 5 Star

When it was time to replace my 11 year-old Craftsman, there were a few things I knew I wanted (and a few things I didn't want) in my next mower. I wanted a quality engine with plenty of power and good over-all construction. I wanted it to have a mulching feature, and I prefer the taller rear wheels. I didn't want my mower to be self-propelled. My 1/3 acre yard is fairly flat and easy to mow. I don't have any trouble pushing a mower around. Self-propelled mowers cost more, weigh more, and have more parts to break. But my biggest reason is you get less power to the blade because the motor is also powering the drive wheels. Just a plain ol' push mower for me, thanks! The Basics: The Husqvarna 7021P is a 21" push mower with an excellent 160cc GCV Honda engine. I'm not exactly sure when it happened, but sometime between the purchase of my last mower and this new one, the old standard of horsepower ratings has been replaced by a new "gross torque" rating. This is supposedly a more accurate assessment of a mower's power. I don't know...just go with it. This Honda engine is rated at 6.9 gross torque which is on par with, or somewhat better than, most other walk-behind mowers. And because YOU provide the power to push it, all of that torque is going to the cutting blade. The engine features a new Easy Start auto choke system that just plain works great. There is no primer bulb to push. For a cold start you simply slide the choke lever over, squeeze the safety bar on the handle and pull. Mine has started on the first pull every single time without exception. The choke releases by itself so you don't have to do it, and there is no chance of flooding the engine. Nice. The Honda motor runs smooth and strong. It's not necessarily any quieter than other mowers, but it does have a little deeper tone to it. I like the sound. There are a few other features that attracted me to the Husqvarna 7021P also. It has double ball-bearing wheels which roll very smooth and easy. This model also has the taller rear wheels which help navigate uneven terrain and bumps like tree roots. The 7021P has three modes for mowing. You can attach a rear bag to catch the clippings, use as a side-discharge mower, or use as a mulcher. I use my mower as a mulcher exclusively. This mower also has a handle which folds easily for compact storage or transport. Setup: Set up is super easy. Simply remove the mower from the box, extend and tighten the handle, add the included oil, and add gas. That's it. You're ready to mow. Performance: The first time I used this mower I had it set too low. It didn't have any trouble powering through the grass, but it did leave some clumps behind (remember...I'm mulching). But the next time I mowed I raised it up one notch to the one in the middle. Now I don't get any clumps at all, and it's probably a healthier setting for my grass. The cut is very uniform and the yard looks great when I'm done. Conclusion: I am very happy with my purchase. Just because I didn't want a self-propelled mower doesn't mean I wanted a disposable piece of junk. The Husqvarna 7021P is a quality mower with a great engine and good build quality. It performs like a champ and leaves my lawn looking well groomed. I highly recommend this mower.

Review by Dr H : Husqvarna 21 inch gas push mover works aok 5 Star

I read the available online reviews of lawnmowers. I wanted a push lawn mower for exercise, and a Honda engine for dependability. I have lots of trees with roots so the high rear wheels seemed useful for avoiding problems. The online price seemed reasonable and it was backed by Amazon. Why not? I ordered the mower on a Friday and it arrived next Monday or Tuesday on my front porch. This was a lot more convenient than going to the store and having to carry it home. I have used it three or four times for a quarter acre yard and it works fine. Very easy to set up - just unfold the handle, add oil and gas, push the choke button as indicated, pull the cord (on a flat surface with no grass, e.g., drive way). Sometimes must repeat choke pull sequence), and start cutting. If you use the default mulch setting, you do not need to add the attachments (e.g., grass catcher). A full gas tank suffices for about 12,000 sq ft.

Review by Stonebroke : Durable, powerful, great value 5 Star

I bought my Husqvarna 21 inch push mower with the 5.5HP Honda engine in 2003. I mow about 1 acre total of non-irrigated weeds on hilly rough terrain. I beat this mower up year after year and it's never failed to start right up and offer up plenty of power through tall grass. This year (2010) during the first mowing of the season I ran over a small tree stump and bent the crankshaft, even doing the work myself it will probably be too expensive to justify repairing a 7 year old mower but I will definitely replace it with the same thing when I get a new one. 6/11/2010 Follow-up: I was able to find a crankshaft online inexpensively which allowed me to try to do the repair myself. I am happy to report that the mower re-build project was a success and my Honda engine is purring along happily once again, may I get many more seasons of use from this very durable lawn mower.

Review by Cecil : Great Lawn Mower major quality. 5 Star

Just wanted to let anyone wanting a great mower value this is the one. The mower was received in perfect packed condition and was very easy to assemble with the great enclosed instructions. After asembled and adding motor oil to recommended level and filled fuel tank the engine started on rhe first pull. The engine has a much lower noice level with the equiped Honda 160cc. Major value and quality with the purchase of this Husqvarna Mower.

Review by JD : Like Mowers used to be--but even better... 5 Star

I've been going crazy looking for a replacement for the Craftsman 38514 I purchased in May of 2009. It's still running, but has run lousy since I got it (I regret not returning it immediately). The Briggs Stratton 550 engine is so anemic I have to walk very slow or mow over the same area twice (or more). I've had two previous versions of the Craftsman mower over the past few years that worked fine until they got damaged from hitting a hidden stump or a rock, so I was disappointed that my 'go-to' mower is no longer a good option. I have 2 fairly large yards with lots of difficult areas to take care of, so I use my mowers pretty hard. I don't want to spend a lot on a mower since I have a track record of mower-cide. I've been shopping around for a replacement only to find that most similar mowers use the same engine that I dislike so much. I like a large deck since I have a lot of grass to mow, but don't like self-propelled mowers, I find them heavy and more difficult to maneuver than a plain push mower. I also prefer to mulch rather than bag or discharge (mulching is easier). I've heard good things about Honda mower engines and this Husqvarna seemed to fit all my requirements: decent deck size, mulch capability, high back wheels, not too heavy, no self-propelled nonsense, powerful and serviceable engine. It's about twice as much as I like to spend on a mower, but so far I think it's money well spent (as long as I don't wreck it too soon). I purchased from a local dealer instead of Amazon since I wanted to check the deck for weakness mentioned in a couple of other reviews. Mine appears to be fine. It started right up and took on some very high and a bit wet grass with no problem. This is how I remember mowers used to be, you push it and it cuts. There was no backtracking or slowing down, this Husqvarna took everything I threw at it and only stalled once in some very high wet grass. The bearings in the wheels made a big difference in pushing and maneuvering. I reinstalled the rear bag and was getting ready to put it in the garage when I noticed that it had sucked up a bunch of wet leaves from last fall on the side of the driveway. I checked the bag and the leaves were chopped up into a nice mulch. I was able to go around the property and a clean up a bunch of wet fall leaves that I hadn't gotten to and turn them into great mulch for the plants. I've never had a mower that could do that. I also noticed that the bag filled up nicely, the last rear bag mower I had tended to clog up when bag was only half full. The bag was also easy to remove and install. Pros: Powerful Honda Engine, High back wheels, Real bearings in wheels, Not too heavy, Mulches grass and leaves like a Tasmanian devil, Nice rear bag. Cons: So far none, but it's only been a day. I am a little concerned with the longevity and durability of the plastic pieces at the back of the deck. I'd also prefer a 22" deck, but the extra power of the engine on this 21" makes mowing a lot faster than my old 22" with the anemic engine. You used to able to get a decent no-frills push gas mower for $100 to $150, but it seems those days are over. This Husqvarna may be the best compromise of price, quality, and usability out there right now. I'm super happy with it, but will post a follow up if anything changes.

Review by Frank : Works well. 5 Star

The boxed was packaged well and no damage was found on inspection. The mower started up the 1st pull and I began to cut the high grass (my old mower was not working so the grass got a little long). I was pleased but I had to note that I expected the grass catcher bag to be a little bigger. This was the 1st cut of the year so I had a lot of grass. I had to empty the bag more than what I was used to. I was pleased with the operation and found everything pretty easy. To mulch you just take the bag off and there is not insert to worry about. I was going to by the lower model of Husqvarna mower but I read that one person wished he had got the Honda motor instead so investigated the models on the Husqvara web site and did a model comparison to find the best model that would suite me. I did notice that the asking price of Amazon was higher than the MSRP on the Husqvarna web site which is curious. I found the convenience of Amazons shipping (prime member) too much to pass up however. It would have been nice if they had an aluminum chassis that was rust resistant but now I am just being picky. It may be too soon to say I am pleased with the product (1 cut), but I am pleased with the product.

Review by David J. Smith : Good price, good mower. 5 Star

Husqvarna engineering, Honda engine. What a combination. Easy to start, runs well. One thing I like (not on many small mowers) is the gas cut-off switch. I can shut off the gas with juice in the tank and run the carb. dry - the alternative (with machines with no shut off) is to run the engine 'til the tank is dry (wasteful, time-consuming) or leave gas in the carb. to evaporate and leave a gummy residue in the carb. which may eventually clog the nozzles, making for a time-consuming break-down of the carb. to clean it. I'm also a rear high-wheeler kinda guy; easier to maneuver. Setup (out of the box) is a no-brainer (except, possibly, for the mechanically challenged). Other reviewers have noted corrosion problems with this mower; mine is too new for me to comment.

Review by John "wba" : Just ok, few flaws. 3 Star

First of all, I've had a honda mower before and loved it. This one is a lot harder to pull start than my old honda. Also if you set the rear vertical height adjustment to low, The rear skirt assembly would drag and dig into the dirt. My order also came with one broken rear wheel but Amazon gave me credit for it and very helpful with the problem. Thank you Amazon!.
