I went looking for a replacement for my Yardman lawnmower. After checking a local shop specializing in tractors and such, I felt that $23 for a replacement blade was too much. After looking at Sears, I found a blade but it did not have the STAR CENTER CUT that the original blade has. I was very happy to find this blade here at such a low price. I actually ordered two based on the part number included in the description as well as the picture. The only issue is that the picture is incorrect. The replacement blade does NOT have the STAR CENTER CUT but has been made to circumvent this by using a wider opening (thus the 4 of 5 stars - it would be 5 stars if the picture was clearer and the description was written better i.e. "This blade does not have the STAR CENTER CUT but will fit your lawnmower regardless. The special cut allows for the blade to be attached properly with no worries"). I did install the blade and it DID fit nicely. No worries or safety concerns from what I can tell. I mowed the lawn and it cut perfectly on both bagging and mulching mode. Enjoy!

This blade was made by Oregon and not MTD. It seems to cut as good as the original blade. However, the center hole of the blade is not the star configuration like OEM. It's more of a rectangle. While it fits the MTD adapter, I check it before every cut to make sure it isn't coming loose. So far, it is staying tight.

I've owned two of these replacment mulching blades. Both have performed as well as the original blade. The rectangular cut-out fits fine on my MTD mower that takes this model blade and neither has ever come loose. They come painted and not sharp enough to cut, say, a finger. That may be partly due to the paint applied after sharpening. But after a couple of mowings even a highly sharpened blade would be as dull or duller. I don't need or want a razor sharp blade. Very satisfied with this replacement blade.

After fruitlessly searching for this item all over my city and finding nothing but empty slots where product had once been, imagine my surprise when I found the replacement blade for my mower online. Not only found it online, but even with shipping it was less expensive than anything I'd found locally. The blade has to be sharpened and balanced once received, but it's performing just fine. Shipping was fairly quick, too.
